Way of the Ancestors - Bwiti Song & Dance Workshop & Ceremony with Nzambe Divanga

Join us for Way of the Ancestors, a transformative day of Bwiti traditions with master teacher Nzambe Divanga. Held at a private location in Chingford our program features two special events that will immerse you in the rich cultural heritage of Gabon's Bwiti people: an afternoon workshop focused on traditional songs and dance, followed by a sacred ancestral ceremony at dusk. Whether you're new to Bwiti practices or seeking to deepen your connection with these ancient traditions, this gathering offers a unique opportunity to experience authentic African spiritual arts in a respectful and accessible setting.

Bwiti Song & Dance Workshop with Nzambe Divanga - 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Join us for an authentic Bwiti Song & Dance Workshop led by Nzambe Divanga. This immersive experience introduces participants to the sacred musical traditions of the Bwiti people from Gabon, where song, rhythm, and dance interweave to create powerful healing and ancestral connections.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Develop deep listening skills for traditional Bwiti rhythms

  • Learn authentic call and response singing techniques

  • Practice traditional Bwiti dance movements in rhythm

Through guided instruction, participants will discover how to embody Bwiti rhythms, practice traditional songs, and connect with this ancient spiritual practice through movement. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience the transformative power of Bwiti musical traditions firsthand.

Bwiti Ancestral Ceremony (Starting at Dusk)

Following on from the song and dance workshop, join us for a traditional Bwiti ceremony honouring ancestral wisdom and spiritual connection. This sacred gathering weaves together the elements learned during the day into a meaningful ceremonial experience.

Surrounded by nature this ceremony provides participants with a profound opportunity to experience authentic Bwiti traditions in a respectful and accessible format.
